film FEstival: Awaken ing Origins
UCSD APSA (Asian and Pacific-Islander Student Alliance) invites you to submit a film to our APSA Film Festival!
As a means of addressing the underrepresentation and misrepresentation of Asian and Pacific Islanders in the mainstream media, APSA's Talent Show provides a space for students and community members the opportunity to witness and/or showcase their talents. While the Talent Show has been largely comprised of performing arts, the Film Festival acts as another medium for creatives and artists to show their talents through media and film. This year's theme is Awakening Origins. With the idea that our past has become a dormant memory in mind, we hope to awaken those beautiful, hidden stories that go behind the under-representation of APIs. We hope you will be able to uncover some in your films. Your film(s) should reflect this theme in some manner, but it is very open to interpretation. There will be a selection process and the ones we think are the best will be displayed at the benefit talent show. To learn more, check out the Facebook page here. cinematographers
