Our Mission
"We, The students of the University of California at San Diego (UCSD), came together to provide a forum to address the problems and concerns of all UCSD Asian Pacific Islander (API) students; to try and create an environment where issues such as those political, educational, cultural and social can be addressed; to increase awareness about API history and heritage within the university and community; to unite as a community resource to represent a common voice thereby empower ourselves; and to serve as a support for building bonds and addressing differences between students."

A Brief History
Originally founded in 1971, the Asian and Pacific-Islander Student Alliance, APSA, was the first Asian and Pacific-Islander (API) student organization at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Representing all API students at UCSD, APSA is concerned with social, political, and cultural issues that affect our community.
Through community service projects, workshops, meetings and events, we attempt to provide educational awareness and to increase the accessibility and exposure of API issues to the members of the community. Although APSA primarily represents API students, we encourage students of all backgrounds to be involved in our organization and extend our focus beyond that of cultural or social boundaries; for we believe that only through our diversity and cooperation can we better recognize the similarities in our differences and create a positive change in our community.
